Words became my friends on Linton Road--now Roy Lawrence Road-- when I was a little girl.  Between reading, writing, and putting in time with my imaginary friends, Benny and Johnny Lee Pepper, I knew someday I'd pursue the written word. I'm brand-new to the writing game. I'm talking onesie, Similac, stroller brand-new. My first novel, Dream Girl Awakened, was released on February 19, 2013.   My second novel, Forgive Me, was released on February 11, 2014. Wouldn't Change A Thing, my third novel, is set for release on July 14, 2015.

Although my journey began on Roy Lawrence Road, I ran away from my dream of writing for years. Sure, I got grants, attended workshops, entered contests, scribbled notes on napkins and eavesdropped on fabulous conversations, but something inside said, "leave that dream alone. You can't make a living that way."

The words kept haunting me! In 2010, I woke up one morning and asked myself, "If I died today, would I want my current job description on my obituary?" I love my job, but dying without at least trying to be published would mean I lived on this earth, in this place, without using the gift God gave me.  I dusted off a manuscript, queried agents, and had representation in two months.

I still have my day job, I still eavesdrop, and I still write long hand, and that's perfectly fine with me. I'm Stacy Lawrence-Campbell, and I love writing!!!
